A friend comes back for yet another Rogue River rafting trip

One of our rafting buddies returned last Saturday for a full day Rogue River rafting trip. He has come with a group for many years. This year, however, the group trip which takes place the first week end each August was cancelled due to the fires. He was determined not to let this year go by and brought four of his friends. They all camped at Indian Mary Park and Ferron got to spend the day rafting the Rogue River with them. Thanks!!!

Bear Sighting on the Rogue River near Chair Riffle

The salmon are jumping and possibly bringing the bear closer to the river. Or maybe the fires or maybe it's the 90+ degree gorgeous days we are having this week. Thanks to our guests from last week's Rogue River rafting day trip who sent us these photos. It was a great day for wildlife spotting.

Sunny September days rafting the Rogue River

This young couple from Oregon spent yesterday with Ferron on the Rogue River. They had stayed at Out 'N About Treehouses the night before. Besides seeing black tailed deer and egrets, they also saw a black bear on the south side of the river by Chair Riffle. It was pretty exciting and we hope they will send us photos to share with you.

Labor Day Rogue River family float

This was the first time in a couple of years that this so California family was on vacation together. Unfortunately, a couple of grandkids were unable to join them. And our Cousin Shawn, whom we've not seen much this season, was the guide for their day trip on the Rogue River. Everyone enjoyed their Labor Day on the river.

Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips winners!

Earlier in the year we donated a day raft trip to Siskiyou Field Institute's Birds and Brew fundraiser. This local couple won the Rogue River rafting trip but cancelled earlier in the summer due to the smoky conditions. Finally they made it to Grave Creek! Blue skies while rafting the Rogue River

As you look at these pictures of the Rogue River above Hellgate Canyon you notice blue sky and a bank of smoke from the Big Windy fire. This Wisconsin family enjoyed a morning of rafting the Rogue with blue, clear skies. Wayd said, "This is what summer is supposed to be like. I forgot."

A day of weather while rafting the Rogue River

Yesterday's Rogue River rafting trip with this San Diego family was wild and crazy.  There was lightning, thunder, a downpour, smoke and finally sunshine.  The group was very optimistic and adventurous.  With rain gear on and extra layers they smiled while paddling their inflatable kayaks on the Rogue River.

Family Rogue River rafting trip

Yesterday was one of the clearest least smoky days yet, though the fires continue to burn. After driving up to Grants Pass in a Prius for 18 hours, this family joined us for our afternoon half day Rogue River raft trip. They still seemed to be having fun with one another, too!

Rogue River rafting on a Thursday afternoon

This family of five joined us for a half day afternoon trip.  We brought along one double and two single inflatable tomkats.  Everyone took a turn in both trading in and out.  We hear the 11 year old was very adept.  There was lots of screaming and a good time was had by all!
