Holiday greetings from Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips

The Rogue River colors in the fall

Although rain is badly need in the Rogue River valley, we have had stunningly beautiful fall days and the autumn colors along the Rogue River have been gorgeous.  Salmon and steelhead are still biting on the Rogue River and there's always enough water to be in a driftboat or raft!

Rogue River rafting trip for Southern Oregon student leaders and staff

Southern Oregon University student leaders and staff spent the full day on a Rogue River guided trip with Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips. The river is a wonderful teacher and provided an opportunity for teambuilding and learning about one another away from campus. Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips was thrilled to have this opportunity.

Sunday guided trip on the Rogue River

A great day on the river yesterday. Everyone tried kayaks and got through all the rapids successfully. A California butterfly joined the ride for a short time and turtles were spotted. They were visiting from Portland and stayed at Out and About Treehouse resort.

From 150 miles of flat water to the white water of the Rogue River

This family went down the Rogue River 20 years ago. After a 150 mile boy scouting trip of flat water they decided it was time to reconnect with the white water on the Rogue River. They had a great day on a guided trip with Ferron's Fun Trips.

First trip on the river for this dog

This family took their dog on the river yesterday for a guided trip. He has been diagnosed with cancer and they wanted to introduce him to the water. He hid in the bow of the boat almost all day. Once his Dad decided to try the kayak he paid close attention to him and the water.

Full day of guided river trips on the Rogue River

We had two families on half day guided trips yesterday. The first family had a little boy that was full of energy and excitement. Him and Dad tried the kayak together and had wild rides through the rapids. The second family was from Virginia and stayed at the Vertical Horizon's resort. They were in the kayaks for a short period of time as the water was a bit chilly. There were many Osprey, geese, and merganser sightings.

From Liverpool England and rafting the Rogue River

Today Sue took some visitors from Liverpool, England on the Rogue River.  Older brother, his daughter, and her son, as well as younger brother are visiting middle brother who rafted the Rogue with his daughter, his granddaughter and his wife.  It was a glorious day on the Rogue River and we all had a wonderful time!

Season winding down

The temperatures are cooler, the phone is ringing less, and the river is dropping. It's beginning to look like the end of the season. Still a few more big trips and of course we're ready for more guided trips and rentals. There have been many animal sightings this season, here are a few examples.
