Rogue River rafting trip on August 2

A Reno family camping at Valley of the Rogue Park decided to brave the smoke and raft with us yesterday.  This is their annual trip to Oregon and they are headed to Brookings today for some fishing.  They were in good spirits and had a great day on the smoky Rogue River.  They saw lots of turtles, deer, a bald eagle, osprey, mink and a beaver.  When things warmed up in the afternoon, dad and daughter got in the double tomkat and son in the single.

Mother and son raft the Rogue River

A step-mom treated her step daughter and grandson to a day with Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips.  Ferron said they did not see anyone else on the river yesterday.  The visibility, as you can see, was actually a little better!

Rogue Bandits rafting the Rogue River

This was a repeat trip for this Salem, OR family though the smoky skies were a first.  We offered bandanas to help with breathing.  Next stop is Lake of the Woods and bike riding. We wish we could say the smoke will go away.  There are no guarantees so we are asking Fun Trips floaters to consider their comfort and health first.

Half day Rogue River rafting trip on July 29

Two uncles from New York took their local nephews and niece rafting on the half day Rogue River trip from Galice to Grave Creek.  Though a little eerie, the smoky Rogue River has a different ambiance and tranquility to it.  The rapids are still the same!

Smokey day rafting the Rogue River

Grandparents and grandsons joined Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips for a smoky morning rafting on the Rogue River.  Though ashes are falling, the river and surrounding areas are safe.  The fire west and north just create a very different ambiance on the Rogue River.  The family is headed to Out 'N About Treesort after the trip where hopefully the skies will be blue.

Grandparents and grandkids rafting the Rogue River with Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips

A grandma and her water polo granddaughter joined Ferron for a full day trip. At lunch another set of grandparents and their grandsons joined Ferron for the afternoon. Unfortunately, one of the boys had an injured foot but he managed to swim in the river and cool down. The grandparents and grandkids shared double kayaks and had lots of water fights.

Hand bell ensemble rafts the Rogue with Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips

Fifteen members of the Tintabulations Hand Bell Ensemble joined Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips yesterday morning. The group is from Nevada and is on its way to Portland to compete. The group worked well on the river, too. They were a great paddle boat team and traded off in the double tomkats as well. We appreciated their artistic photo abilities, too. Those in Ferron's raft took great pictures. The hand bell ensemble ranges in age from 21 to 65 years old. Everyone had an awesome time on the river. Thanks, Tintabulations. Good luck!
