One of our rafting buddies returned
last Saturday for a full day Rogue River rafting trip. He has come with
a group for many years. This year, however, the group trip which takes
place the first week end each August was cancelled due to the fires.
He was determined not to let this year go by and brought four of his
friends. They all camped at Indian Mary Park and Ferron got to spend
the day rafting the Rogue River with them. Thanks!!!
The salmon are jumping and possibly
bringing the bear closer to the river. Or maybe the fires or maybe it's
the 90+ degree gorgeous days we are having this week. Thanks to our
guests from last week's Rogue River rafting day trip who sent us these
photos. It was a great day for wildlife spotting.
This young couple from Oregon spent
yesterday with Ferron on the Rogue River. They had stayed at Out 'N
About Treehouses the night before. Besides seeing black tailed deer and
egrets, they also saw a black bear on the south side of the river by
Chair Riffle. It was pretty exciting and we hope they will send us
photos to share with you.
This was the first time in a couple of years
that this so California family was on vacation together.
Unfortunately, a couple of grandkids were unable to join them. And our
Cousin Shawn, whom we've not seen much this season, was the guide for their day trip on the Rogue River.
Everyone enjoyed their Labor Day on the river.
Earlier in the year we donated a day
raft trip to Siskiyou Field Institute's Birds and Brew fundraiser. This
local couple won the Rogue River rafting trip but cancelled earlier in
the summer due to the smoky conditions. Finally they made it to Grave
