We shared a lovely fall day with this couple from Dallas, OR. They raise yellow labs and horses and love animals. Pupeye entertained them jumping off the raft several times and chasing deer. Turtles were viewed in unusual positions. He has served two tours in Iraq and we are appreciative of his service.

Rogue River Rafting on Sept 11
Groups from the Oregon coast and Massachusetts joined us today. With near 100 degree temperatures everyone was in kayaks by the afternoon. The western pond turtle was debating whether to get into the river as well. The wildlife show was abundant with deer, salmon and bald eagle.

From crewing to kayaking the Rogue River
Driving north from CA this family and their dog, Cocoa, decided to spend the day with Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips. The elder son crews for their local club and was in the single kayak for the day except for a brief out of kayak experience at Argo. Dad and younger son tackled the rapids in the double Tomkat this afternoon. It was a great day on the river.

From London to the Rogue River
Early this year we started corresponding with this family from London about their float on the Rogue River today. It was a great connect. Ferron learned that Mom and Dad have traveled to Nepal as has Sue. The family was on its way to see Oregon's only National Park, Crater Lake. What a great experience for this family from England.

July 27 Rogue River float
This family, their French exchange student, and the son's friend joined us Wednesday for a Rogue River float from Hog to Argo. It was the first time the French lady in the green lifejacket had been on the river. We had a great time even with the upstream afternoon winds. Sue was glad she had rear mount support and most in the boat were glad they had water guns!

July 25 Rogue River rafting trip
These folks on our guided Rogue River rafting trip today have all been experienced rafters. The gentleman on the left had requested to paddle so we provided a rear mount paddle support raft. He really enjoyed the relaxation, too. his partner said, "This is the life." The gentleman on the right has kayaked the Rogue in the past and felt more comfortable on guided trip this time. He kept himself upright through Argo and had a great afternoon.

Our rafters from Portland enjoyed their float today even though we are having inclement weather. Marcella, in the front of the inflatable kayak, chose whitewater rafting and hopes to go to an OMSI camp next year to learn more.

Our afternoon half day trip was a local Williams family. This was not the first trip for the young kayaker in the front of the boat. And of course, Pupeye, perched on the bow of the boat, kept a watchful eye for geese along the river's shore.

July 2 half day trippers on the Rogue River
We had a great group of rafters on the Rogue today. On the right is our morning half day crew from various parts of the country. On the left are two of the afternoon group from New Mexico who are staying at Out 'N About Treehouse. These two kayaked the entire afternoon stretch. Both groups spotted bald eagles and a good time was had by all.

Family Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trip in June
Today our day trippers ranged in age from 6 years old to 80 years old. The elder recounted to Ferron her experience when she was 10 years and Pearl Harbor was bombed in front of her eyes. She had more life experience to offer than the history of the Rogue River that Ferron recounted. She admired the tapestry of greens which will slowly disappear as temperatures rise to over 90 degrees in the Rogue Valley the next couple of days.
