June 29 Rogue River rafting trip with Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips

This Mill Valley, CA family of four joined us for our full day Rogue River rafting trip.  Father and boys were in the kayaks.  And there was a fantastic wildlife display, too.  There were beaver, baby deer, bald eagle, and mink.  Of course, Pupeye couldn't help but jump in and chase the Canadian geese, and Curry, still not comfortable in the water, whimpered and talked up a storm as his older brother swam in the river.

Rogue River Raft Trip on June 28

The couple below were just married.  They met in music school and are from Moscow, Idaho.  The groom, who also opted to kayak at times, and his mother planned the honeymoon which was a total surprise to the bride.  The family above joined Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips for the afternoon portion of this Rogue River raft trip day.  They were staying at Out 'N About Treehouses www.treehouses.com

The family lives close to the Canadian border in Washington and the girls yelled with glee as they sat at the very front of the boat and got wet going through the rapids.

Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips was on the river with this family thirteen years ago!  They returned again this year.  Though they vacation in Klamath Falls, they drive 2 1/2 hours each way to join us for our full day guided trip.  Thanks, Pete and family!

We've had unseasonably cool and rainy weather and this is supposed to change soon.  The Sams Family from the Redwood Motel www.redwoodmotel.com provided us with a lot pictures from their trip this month.  They usually visit in August and noticed the difference in the temperature as they spent part of the day with Ferron in "Big Blue."  More photos will be posted in the upcoming weeks.  Thanks, Jennifer!

Rogue River Rafting June 21, 2012

Wayd commented, "We saw lots of turtles and two bald eagles.  Dad and son were at the top of Argo when a bald eagle buzzed their boat. We didn't see it on the big boat, but they took it as a good omen. And they made it through safely, only dumping out at the very end.  I lost the extra boat and paddles off the back of the 16 footer and we had to chase the paddles down stream.  Regardless, the crew pulled together and it all worked out so I would say the eagle was a good omen."

Rogue River rafting was a fun day last Friday with this crew.  The photo was taken at the Galice Boat Landing on the wild and scenic recreational section of the Rogue River.
Each parent rafted in a double inflatable kayak with a youngster and traded in and out.  The family, staying at Out 'N About Treehouses www.treehouses.com, was missing their dogs and happy that Pupeye and Curry came along.

Rogue River rental rafts

Here is the newest addition to our fleet, a new Aire 16 foot raft.  We appreciate a longtime Ferron's Rogue River Fun Trips customer, Iain D, who wrote:  "Having guided on the Rogue River with fondest memories a few careers back, I find my craving for an occasional whitewater "fix."  As Jimmy Buffet so wisely memorialized in song that I twist - it's that crazy concoction that helps me hang on!  Sue and Ferron are always there for me with a smile, assisting in the administration of my whitewater craving.  At both Grave Creek and Foster Bar, there's never a miss as Ferron's Fun Trips are always cordial, professional and punctual.  Thanks so much for your service!

June 9 Rogue River Trip

This hardy crew from Out 'N About Treehouses joined us for our Saturday full day and half day trip on the Wild and Scenic recreational section of the Rogue River.  There was actually one more child, who was sleeping at this point in the trip, from the Nevada family in the back   Though no one ventured into the kayaks because of the cool temperatures,  Curry, our pup, on the left swam, across the river for the first time with Pupeye.
